Paiania Residence — New Build

Project type

Interior design concept for a new-build home in Paiania — warm oak, stone textures, and a considered palette across all living and private spaces

Location

paiania

A newly built single-family home in Paiania, designed from the ground up as a complete interior. The challenge with new builds is often the opposite of renovation: not too little space, but too much blankness. Here the work was to give a finished shell a sense of depth, warmth, and character — to make it feel inhabited before the first box is unpacked. The palette runs from oak and warm beige through sage green and dusty rose to charcoal and matte black, shifting room by room without ever losing coherence. Every space was treated as a full composition in its own right.

The main living space opens to the terrace through full-height sliding glass. A built-in fireplace anchors the seating zone, while a sculptural multi-globe chandelier over the dining table sets the room's lighting tone. Two large artworks and a built-in fish tank give the space its personality.

Floor-to-ceiling oak cabinetry, a white stone island, and three slim brass pendant lights. The kitchen is warm, handleless, and completely unfussy — designed to be used rather than admired.

A charcoal upholstered bed, a single piece of art, and a cream drum pendant. The master bedroom chooses restraint over statement — and lets the room breathe.

Sleep and work share the same compact footprint without compromising each other. A built-in desk extends seamlessly from the shelving unit; a soft blue ceiling adds quiet depth overhead.

Three proposals, three material stories. The first pairs deep green marble with warm oak slats and brass sconces. The second goes cooler — travertine, matte black frames, anthracite vanity. The third finds a softer middle ground in sage, grey concrete-effect tile, and a globe wall light. Each shares a LED ceiling perimeter that dissolves the wall-to-ceiling transition.
